Murad Correcting Moisturizer SPF 15

Well, well, well girls!  Have I got a new goodie to share with you?!  It's this lil gem here:

Murad Correcting Moisturiser SPF 15* available online

I have a love/hate relationship with face moisturiser .. I love the results but hate the use.  I'm a real fussy customer when it comes to face creams because I hate so much about them.  I hate to feel them on my skin, I hate 'added' dewiness,  I also hate 'matte effects', I dislike the smell of them and I don't like that most I have tried sting my sensitive skin.

However this has been a welcome breath of fresh air to my skin care routine!  My first impressions of it was 'it's green!' but it's this colour to help counteract any redness and even out skin tone.

As soon as you start to work it into the skin it goes almost translucent:

The things that I like about this:

Fragrance - yes, it smells of something but not a chemical or artificial processed smell, it's really fresh and it doesn't last, once it's on the skin you can't smell a thing.

Hydration - it leaves my skin plumper and very healthy looking.

Weightless - ONE thing that upsets me about so many moisturisers is that I can FEEL them on my skin after use.  This one sinks in so well and leaves no residue or anything on my skin.

Evens skin tone - the colour correcting properties of this cream are actually surprisingly good, because you use a tiny amount (a pea size for the whole of my face) I wasn't expecting it to 'cover' and I guess it doesn't give coverage as such but it does even out my skin and makes it look instantly better upon application.

It's soothing - I'm guessing the 'hydrate and protect' properties allow this moisturiser to feel not only light on the skin but also it's a pleasure to use.  I know no matter how my skin is feeling, this won't irritate it.  It calms it down if anything.

Can apply make-up IMMEDIATELY after application - I personally find that when a product claims make-up can be applied after application this fact is rarely true but with this I can stand in my dressing room, apply my moisturiser and then follow with my face base straight away.  This is a biggie for me because I am HORRIBLE in the mornings, leave everything to the last minute and usually have about 3 minutes to get ready!

I have fallen for this brand in a big way; I have suffered with bad acne in my late teens and early twenties.  In addition to horrific acne, I also have sensitive skin and have had eczema too so I know the importance of the appearance of skin; it effects my confidence like you wouldn't believe and this brand acknowledges this fact.  It has various ranges to deal with and treat different skin complaints and at the base of this really understands how skin can effect the whole person.  You can read about it further on Howard Murad's bio page.  This is something I respect; I do feel like this brand has a duty of care behind each and every product it has created and that goes along with me indeed.

Have you tried anything from Murad before?  I am definitely a convert!  Just need to pick out what to get next!

  1. I'll have to give this brand a look as I too have really sensitive skin as well as eczema. I always feel really self-conscious when it flares up. Thanks for the review!
