Artsy Wednesday: Colour Block Nail Art

Hey hey hey people!  How are we all this week?  I hope everyone is good!  I'm feeling a little more human (think the longer daylight hours help) but only marginally hehe!

Colour block nail art was this week's Artsy Wednesday theme and this is my interpretation:

I picked out three Leighton Denny polishes for this mani:

I used Leading Lady for the base of the 'colour blocks' and it was fairly simple to do.  I just took some striping tape and marked off 4 squares on the nail.  I then painted the 'blocks' in Sophisticated or All About Me, removed the tape and there you are... colour blocks done.

I haven't painted both hands the same; I only painted one nail on my right hand in the colour block pattern because...well...do you want to know the truth?  When I painted my nails I had already consumed two glasses of wine so my hands weren't the steadiest!  Ha I probably share far too much info with you peeps ;P

Oh and I also added some nail studs to the 'plain' nails to bling them up.  I bought them from the Born Pretty store and Michelle over at Lab Muffin has a discount code that's worth checking out if you're going to buy anything :)

And that's another Artsy Wednesday complete!  I can't remember if I have already mentioned this or not but we are posting Artsy Wednesday manicures every two weeks now instead of every week as it's much more manageable for us this way.  Also, I know people specifically stop by on a Wednesday to see the 'theme' which is lovely (thanks!) but if you have any manicures you'd like to see... whether it be a manicure inspired by whatever or a certain technique then make sure you comment and let us know what you think and you never know... it may pop up as a theme in the near future! :)

Now, check out the links below to see what the other girls from Artsy Wednesday have came up with this week (theirs will probably be way better than my alcohol induced attempt!):

Michelle - Lab Muffin
Alanna - Pretty Purple Polish
Melanie - Nail & Polish
Jessica - Beauty Gnome
Emily - An Accent Nail

  13. Hi Catrine,

Thanks so much for popping over to my blog, I am really enjoying reading yours, I am so impressed! I am getting much better at painting my own nails but I usually just stick with a normal mani, I am in awe of people who do amazing work like this.

  16. Beautiful and rigorous. I like when a special desing is not on every nail otherwise the manicure looks little trashy. This is way better :)
