Fran Wilson Mood Matcher Lipsticks

Now this is a scary sight to see isn't it?  Green lipstick?  Yellow?  Blue?  WHAAAAT?!

But don't worry; these don't come out the colour in the bullet!  These lipsticks are from Fran Wilson and they are designed to work with the pigment in your lips so they develop into your 'perfect pink'.

I decided to buy these because I'm about to run out of my Smashbox O Gloss which is kind of based on the same principal.  Plus, these are lip stains so you don't need to reapply AND they don't dry the lips... they are actually very creamy on and really comfortable to wear.

And this is how they turn out.  L-R Green, Yellow, Orange.

L-R, Pink, Pale Blue, Dark Blue.

From the swatches I've done and from the couple I've worn it seems to be that the bullet colour becomes the base of the pink.  So yellow and orange lipsticks appear to be warmer toned, the pink lipstick seems to be the most vibrant pink, the green is more neutral and the two blue ones seem to be coolest toned of the collection.

I do believe they really work with the base colour of your skin and you can see this by the dark blue lip swatch in the above pic; because it's swatched over my vein it has remained really blue!  How funny?!

Now some of these pinks are much of a muchness, yes, but if I'm honest as too is my range of pinks of MAC; I usually tend to lean towards blue based pinks and some of my lipsticks are definite dupes of each other so this doesn't bother me but I can see it being a problem for people who want a bit of variety within a collection.

Because these lipsticks are a stain I couldn't swatch them on the lips for you because as I took one off, some residue is left so the next swatch wouldn't be a true representation.  However, I have got a pic of me wearing the pale blue one:

The wear on these lipsticks are really fab; well the couple I've tested out anyway.  They resemble more of a lip balm and aren't drying at all which is very rare in a lip stain.  They are difficult to remove; even with a water based cleanser then a cream cleanser with my clarisonic there is still a little tint left.  This fact doesn't bother me because sometimes in this weather my lips look awful anyway so I'm happy to have a bit of colour.

The downsides to these for me?  The packaging scratches soooo easily.  Just sitting in my Muji drawers they've got a few scratches on them!

Overall I'm pleased with this collection for sure and they've been quite a practical purchase.  No they haven't got the MAC or YSL packaging but they serve a purpose and I bought these six for less than £20 so I'm not complaining at all :)

Have you tried any Fran Wilson products before?
