Favourite MAC Lipsticks of 2012

Hi twirly girlys!  I hope you are all well and happy and are kicking 2013 off in style!  (I however can't just yet... I'm currently sat in my onesie with a diet coke, sharing a scotch egg with Buddy watching Come Dine With Me!  I know right... living the high life?!)  I will however make up for these weeks once I'm properly better and up and about again.  So watch out World!!  ;P

I decided my first '2012 favourites' post was and had to be dedicated to lipsticks.  In 2012 my love for MAC lipsticks was well in truly reignited.  I went from having 3 to I think I have about 35 now.  So yeah... addiction to the bullets of colour is well under way!  I am pretty well versed with MAC lipsticks as I used to love them but I had a massive makeup clear out this time last year and chucked a load out.  Some were passed their best, some were given away and some were just hideous choices so I began 2012 with just 3 (Snob, Ruby Woo and Russian Red).  I gradually repurchased some of my 'go to's' and also discovered some firm new MUST haves. 

I struggled to pick JUST five lipsticks but here they are:

L-R, Hue, Lickable, Rebel, Shy Girl, Costa Chic.

Hue - This is my perfect nude, it has a slight pink tone to it which just really works on me.  No matter what makeup look I have going on, this will more than likely work perfectly with it.

Lickable - A bright pink which is blue based.  I feel like I suit this and it's one of those colours that's bright enough but not in a OTT way.  I almost picked Girl About Town instead of Lickable but I find that GAT is more of a night time lip colour whereas this I think is fine for day time wear too so this won!

Rebel - OMG.  I will never not have Rebel in my collection.  I love this shade.  It's vampy and intense but in a girly way.  It's soooo clever.  It makes your teeth look white and it's fairly versatile... I have both Magenta and Currant lip pencils and if I want a darker look with this lip I use Currant but if I want a brighter lip, I use Magenta.  Or even both for an ombre effect.  Amaze. Could talk about Rebel all day.

Shy Girl - This is another nude but it's like a peachy nude as opposed to pink.  I probably wear this more than Hue because it's slightly warmer and I feel like it warms by brown eyes up.  Again, couldn't live without this shade.  It is very similar to Innocence from the Glamour Daze Collection so if you're a fan of that you'll probably love this one.

Costa Chic - I purchased this by accident.  I wanted Vegas Volt after seeing it on blogs but when I swatched it, I was a little disappointed because I fancied something more on the peach side of coral.  Then this jumped out.  I bought it and it became my lip of choice throughout the summer.  I ended up getting Vegas Volt too and despite my initial reservations of it, I do really like it.

So there you have it...my top lipstick picks from 2012.  It was really hard to pick these!  I have found some really good shades which I know will be in my collection for years to come... like Syrup, Brave, Diva, Up The Amp and Speed Dial to name just a few.  Have you got 'go to' lipsticks?  Are you a MAC fanatic like me at the minute or are you a lip balm and go girl?
