Artsy Wednesday: Earthquake Nails

I was sooooo excited when I noticed this week's theme on the schedule however when it came to painting my nails it was a traumatic experience because what film had I JUST watched?  'The Impossible'!  That film is brutal.  I left the cinema unable to speak and when it came to thinking about just the word 'earthquake' I was choking up again.  Not that I'm an emotional wreck or anything!  Hehe!

I first painted my nails in OPI Lucky Lucky Lavender and put Essie's Matte About You over it to make it matte.  Obvs.  Then I painted half of my nail in New CID Cosmetic's Raspberry Fool.  Some parts of my nails I then painted using Electric Lane top coat by Nails Inc just for a bit oomph.  Following this I 'squiggled' some mini lines where the two halves of the polish meet and yes squiggled is the technical term!

This is the product line up:

I tried to use the matte and gloss plus holographic finishes in this mani just to add a bit of depth really because I was concerned about it being a bit 'flat'.  Overall I'm pleased how this has turned out and I think I'll be doing it again soon with a greater contrast in colours... I'm thinking teal and silver or something like that :)

Now, check out the links below to see what the other girls from Artsy Wednesday have came up with this week:

Michelle - Lab Muffin
Alanna - Pretty Purple Polish
Melanie - Nail & Polish
Jessica - Beauty Gnome
Emily - An Accent Nail
Jean - Laquered Lunatic
