NOTD: Festive Red and Green

For those of you who don't know, I had an op Monday gone to remove my gallbladder.  It wasn't the nicest of experiences and there was complications during surgery meaning I'm unable to brush my hair, make a cuppa or cuddle my dogs BUT I can paint my nails...

I haven't got the most steady of hand at the moment so there is no fancy shmancy nail art going on so I've went for a simple, red and green, festive, ring finger manicure.  The red is Nails Inc, Holly Hill and the green is a polish from the Nails Inc sprinkles range called Bakers Row.

You just don't really how much you use your tummy muscles do you?  I knew recovery wasn't going to plain sailing but I wasn't anticipating being this much of an invalid.  It's so very frustrating... I feel incredibly bored too as I'm not someone who often just sits... and because I can't get comfy at mo and am in quite a bit of pain I can't concentrate on even simple things like watching TV to pass my day by.  I have a new found respect for people who battle illness and disabilities on a daily basis!  Hats off to them because in recent days I've discovered I'm an awful patient!

Lastly, before I babble on with my tales of woe... a big thank you for all the well wishes and support... I really have the best readers! :)

  4. Hubby had to have his removed, ended up with a huge bruise from armpit to hip but life after gallbladder has been better than with gallbladder and pain. He has had a few longer term problems come up since though, so any odd symptoms go and see your doctor - it's the knock on effect on his liver, pancreas and digestive tract.

  6. Oh I do hope you get well soon soon and I hope you're being looked after :) I know what it feels like to be in so much pain you can't get comfy, my best tip would be (if you can) get some extra strong pain killers from your GP and watch film after film :)

You may be laid up poorly but your nails look fab!!

  7. Oh Cat, you poor thing...so sorry to hear about the operative complications.
I had issues with mine too- far from straightforward.

I remember reallly well all the horrible post-op difficulties- not being able to sleep on your side, not being able to have a bath...I even got told to stop trying to use my tummy muscles so much (sounds like you've had similar instructions!).

But there is light at the end of the tunnel...you will feel a little bit better each day. Promise :)

    1. oh my gosh! yes! the not sleeping on my side thing has been the worst as i struggle to sleep on my back and without sleeping properly u don't feel like u can get better cos it's a vicious circle of tiredness and then the boredom sets in but then ur told to keep mobile but how when u can't lift anything or stand straight?! it's mental! xx

  8. love the colour combo you chose, some of the best nails are those that are done elegant and simple :). I know times like this can be hard but you just have to keep in mind it's all for the best and if you play by the doctors rules you'll be back to fancy nails and a hectic schedule in no time haha. I do hope your not in too much pain though, nothing worse than not being able to get comfy and in a position where the pain is manageable. Hope you feel better and a bit happier soon xxx
