Artsy Wednesday: Wedding Nails

Hola peeps!

This week's Artsy Wednesday's theme is 'Wedding Nails' and I have quite a simple opinion on this; for me, when I get married my nails will be a solid creme as that's my preferred nail polish finish and I will most likely pick a colour which is my 'theme' colour so it'll be the colour of my bridesmaid dresses or something...

However as we're not talking about my Wedding here I have picked a colour that I think is gorgeous for any Bride:

I used Leading Lady from Leighton Denny's Autumn/Winter 2012 Dramatic collection.  It's actually quite a dusty pink however in the pic above the warm tones don't come through much; I think it's because my hands are FREEZING... you can even see my nail plates looking a little grey :O !!  Don't ya love the winter?!?  (This was taken in natural daylight.)

This pic above was taken in artificial light and I think the warmer tones are easier to pick up in this one.

My point to using this shade for a Wedding colour is that it is a feminine neutral as it is fairly pink; even though it's not a rosey pink by any means; it's fairly grey so it's a wearable shade.  I think Wedding nails should be whatever you want yours to be ultimately.  I don't think there should be any 'rule' however I do think it's nice to embrace your femininity on the big day so I think something with a pink tone in it is nice.

I also think something like this colour is modern take on classic OPI Wedding colours like Bubble Bath, Princesses Rule and the likes.

I've refrained from any nail art in this weeks mani because I also think, for me, I want my bling on my hands to be all about the rings.  I want diamonds even in my Wedding ring.  I'm so ghetto.  However, I think the holographic top coat, Electric Lane would be a fab addition if you're after something more glitzy!

  4. I love that theres not a french manicure in sight!!! I love nudes for weddings, that is a lovely choice. For my wedding I chose opi canberra't without you (a peach nude with a really, really fine glitter). I've a feeling when you get married you'll find it really difficult to choose though...

  5. Gorgeous colour! Totally agree about having simple nails on the actual day - and I think I'd even get shellac done, so I wouldn't have to worry so much close to the date!
