He-Shi Exfoliating Body Wash

I have a new fake tan range to play with girls!  The range is called He-Shi and I've been really impressed with the results... like REALLY.

First up for review is 'Step One - Exfoliating Body Wash':

I am a seasoned fake tanner and in my opinion exfoliation is the beginning of fake tan.  Full stop.  It's doesn't matter which fake tan you're using!

Firstly, the thing I noticed about this exfoliator was it's colour; it was a fabulous pink shade:

To some people they may think 'what?' but pink things make me happy so there!  It also smelt very fruity... like strawberries :))

As I hadn't exfoliated in about a week I dry exfoliated first (I have dry skin on my body so I find I need to do this dry step first, prior to fake tanning for maximum results).  Meaning on dry skin I rubbed a small amount of this all over my body before I got into the bath.

It is a gel consistency, glycerine based and travels well, you only need small amounts.  There are also micro-dermabrasion crystals in this wash which just feel like tiny beads.  They aren't gritty and don't scratch like some scrubs so I found I could be quite vigorous with the massage in particular around elbows and knees.

Once I added a little water after I had dry exfoliated the consistency of the wash changed to more of a cream:

It didn't foam up like a lather and when more water was added it did dissolve away pretty easily which was good as I hate having to scrub, scrubs off if that makes sense?!

This is aimed for use in the shower however being a bath girl I used it in the bath... there was a downside to this as the particles sank to the bottom of the bath and therefore I was sitting on them but that's part of parcel of using a scrub in the bath so I can't mark points off for that!  Plus, they weren't uncomfortable because they're so fine.

Afterwards I did feel a marked improvement in my skin.  It was super smooth and also felt very clean.  I was impressed with the fact that after both dry exfoliating and wet my skin wasn't asking for moisteriser.

Will I use this again?  Most definitely!

Would I recommend this scrub?  Most definitely!

After using this exfoliator I used the Express Liquid Tan also in the range which I'll be reviewing on my blog shortly so keep an eye out for it! :)
