Galaxy Nail Art

I've been wanting to try this nail art trend for a little while now but never fully understood how to do it but a friend tweeted a picture of her galaxy nails and explained about the sponging so I thought I'd give it a try as intrigue took over.  This is what I came up with:



I know they're not brilliant and the stars are more reminiscent of blobs but I gave it go!  It's the taking part that counts right?! ;P


As I already had by nails painted in Private Jet by Leighton Denny I simply got some tweezers and a sponge; used the tweezers to hold small bits of ripped up sponge and dipped it into white polish then randomly sponged my nail plate with the white.

I then took a variety of colours and used the same dabbing and sponging technique.

I followed this with a dotting tool in white polish to create 'stars' and I attempted small cross shapes for big stars but failed.

Here were the polishes I used:

All Leighton Denny: Sunburst, I love Juicy, First Class, Pure White, Notorious, Persian, High Flyer, Rebel.

    I spent ages doing galaxy nails but they looked rubbish so I took it all off haha. Practise makes perfect :) xx

  12. These are the best galaxy nails I've seen! I had a friend try them out and they looked ok but not as good as yours
