Artsy Wednesday - Inspired by Shoes

Really!!!  Picking ONE pair of shoes for nail inspiration was like picking a favourite child!  On the up side though I'd be MILES worse if it was a handbag... my handbags are actually my babies!!  

Anyway... this week's mani:

I am not entirely happy with how this turned out at all.  I think it's because I was all in a flap when I painted my nails... my arms were killing from the gym, I didn't entirely know what shoes to pick and I had new nail polish to play with so I was in a dilemma!

I had other ideas running around my head too for example:

Leopard print mani?

Monochrome mani?

Some kind of silver crackle thang?

I went with the purple ones because I got to use my new polish; Maroon Me Knot by Leighton Denny.  Coverage wise it dries matte which isn't an issue for me BUT I didn't realise it needed more than two coats until after I had finished!  It's not as noticeable if you leave it matte without a topcoat but as soon as I put the topcoat on you can see I needed an extra coat of colour:

For the flowers I used a dotting tool and Nails Inc Royal Mews which is a holographic silver:

I suppose I may have been better leaving it matte as above because my shoes are suede so it would be a better representation but never mind... I live and I learn I guess!!
